Resumen

RUIZ UTRILLA, Arturo Gerardo  y  EVANGELISTA GARCIA, Angélica Aremy. LGBT-D and the school trajectory: everyday mechanisms for surveillance, punishment and reproduction in school. La ventana [online]. 2020, vol.6, n.52, pp.268-299.  Epub 09-Feb-2021. ISSN 1405-9436.

This paper is part of a broader research, whose aim is to carry out a hermeneutical reconstruction of the university from the experience that LGBT students have built of it. For this part, our objective is to expose in a comprehensive way the cumulus of experiences and learning that these students live and build before the university, which we name school trajectory. The research has been performed in public universities of Tapachula and San Cristóbal de Las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico from 2017 to today. A qualitative methodology and various data production techniques have been used, such as in-depth interviews, focus groups and associative letters. For the purpose of this paper, the production of data corresponding to ten interviews has been presented. The analysis strategy has been the grounded theory, using the Nvivo program as a tool for coding.

Among the results we can highlight a range of discrimination experiences systematically lived by LGBT students and whose focus is the production of subalternized subjectivities within the school spaces. In this dynamic of dispossession and vulnerability, LGBT students are involved in a network of gender surveillance and regulation that accesses to the configuration of their bodies through the modeling of gender expressions.

However, at the same time, these students build some learning to prevent or eliminate the conditions of violence and risk they have experienced or perceived.
