Resumen

STOESSEL, Soledad. The dominant sectors in the postneoliberal Ecuador. Perf. latinoam. [online]. 2021, vol.29, n.57, pp.29-53.  Epub 06-Sep-2021. ISSN 0188-7653.  https://doi.org/10.18504/pl2957-002-2021.

The paper reviews the academic debate around the dominant sectors in Ecuador during the post-neoliberal cycle (2007-2017). The aim of this article is to trace the theoretical approaches and findings proposed by the scientific work in social sciences on the economic elites in the Andean country during the governments led by Rafael Correa. During this period, the return of the state, the exclusion of private capital in public decision-making and the processes of social redistribution, weakened the political influence of those sectors, but not necessarily economic, especially those committed to neoliberalism. The literature is divided between those which pay attention to the agential dimension, others that emphasize structures, and finally, those concerned with the political process in a relational perspective.

Palabras llave : dominant sectors; capitalism; state; post-neoliberalism; corporatism; elites.
