Myiasis is the invasion of living tissue by larvae of flies of the order Diptera. From a clinical perspective, myiasis is usually classified based on the anatomical area affected, typically distinguishing between cutaneous, enteric, ophthalmic, nasopharyngeal, auricular, oral, and genital forms, with the cutaneous form being the most prevalent. It is a frequent condition in endemic areas but infrequent in localities that are not. We present the case of a 2-year-old female patient without typical risk factors for myiasis.
