Resumen

JARDON BARBOLLA, Lev. Lines of conflict in the appropriation of agrobiological resources: the contrasting expeditions of Vavilov and Brücher. Inter disciplina [online]. 2021, vol.9, n.24, pp.73-95.  Epub 25-Jun-2021. ISSN 2448-5705.  https://doi.org/10.22201/ceiich.24485705e.2021.24.78459.

The studies dealing with crop domestication and diversification gained preeminence since XIX century. In this context, the driving force of this research line has been linked from the early days to the relevance of the phytogenetic resources in face of the metabolic rift introduced by industrial agriculture. Botanical expedition and agronomic mission appear as two moments of a single dialectical movement. Depending on the character of the appropriation that occurs within the first moment, missions with different traits are constructed. In this work, the traits of two different and at times opposed traditions in the study of agro-biological resources . I consider that the botanical expedition as appropriation, previous step to the extensionist mission, responds to, and is made possible, by the capital accumulation process itself. Contrastingly, the Vavilovian tradition looking for the comprehension of the historical origin of agrobiodiversity as a product of the nature-society metabolism, opens a crack or interstitium towards another possible form of knowledge. This form of knowledge could surpass the domination implicit within extensionism. This, in turns, opens an avenue to revisit, later, the liberating possibilities of scientific knowledge.

Palabras llave : botanical expedition; domestication; agrobiodiversity; extractivism; social appropriation of knowledge.
