ORDELIN FONT, Jorge Luis. The use of artificial intelligence in mediation: chimera or reality?. Rev. IUS [online]. 2021, vol.15, n.48, pp.357-382. Epub 14-Mar-2022. ISSN 1870-2147. https://doi.org/10.35487/rius.v15i48.2021.707.
This article aims to analyze the possibilities of using systems of artificial intelligence systems in the mediation procedure. For its realization it is based on the distinction between mediation and electronic mediation, and between it and the one that uses artificial intelligence. The analysis is carried out from two perspectives, a) the replacement of the mediator’s figure by the system and b) the use of this system as an aid in the mediation process. It is concluded that these systems have technological limitations that affect the nature of the procedure and the main characteristics of this, so that the existence of fully automated procedures means a denaturation of this alternative dispute resolution mechanism, at least since the current development of the technology.
