Resumen

AMONI REVERON, Gustavo Adolfo. The use of videoconference in compliance with the principle of procedural immediacy. Rev. IUS [online]. 2013, vol.7, n.31, pp.67-85. ISSN 1870-2147.

E-justice is increasingly strong worldwide. Therefore, it is necessary to begin implementing legal changes to facilitate access to courts, especially for those who are far from courthouses. In this sense, the updated interpretation of the principle of immediacy plays a decisive role and videoconference appears as the key to accomplish the elements of this principle. These elements are: to allow participants to listen to each other and watch their nonverbal language during the process; to maintain the confidentiality of testimonies and verify the identity of the deponent, by both an official where the statement was made or by the court, through the Internet.

Palabras llave : E-justice; videoconference; procedural immediacy; virtual declaration.
