The resolution of voluntary disputes with the help of an impartial third party without the capacity to impose a solution, does not constitute an exclusive of the western system. China is heir to a millenary tradition in the use of mediation, confirming the efficiency of a system alien to ideologies and intended to reinforce the need for satisfaction of citizens’ justice. Mexico in the last twenty years has adhered to the use of mediation. Through the comparison of both countries, this article aims to detect those points that could be of interest in order to strengthen the Mexican regulatory body in the matter.
