The purpose of this article is to analyze the tense relationship between corruption and accountability, a circumstance that weakens the performance of political democracy. For this, three cases are exposed in which governments of the states in Mexico, commit inconvenient practices that from harmful informal relationships lead to damage to the heritage, discredit of public power and pernicious costs for citizens.
