INSTRUCTIONS TO AUTHORS

 

 

Tla-melaua, Journal of Social Sciences is an arbitrated publication of the School Of Law and Social Sciences of the Autonomous University of Puebla, that circulates unpublished research in the areas of social sciences developed by the academic community of the University, as well as national and international peers, with the aim of stimulating the development of scientific knowledge and theory in the following disciplines: Political Science, Legal Counsel, Criminology, Law, International Relations and Sociology. Published texts are classified into four types.

1.- Scientific Research articles,
2.- Reflection Articles,
3.- Review articles and
4.- Reviews.

The first type is the result of collaborative original research projects in any area of the social sciences. The structure of these articles is as follows: introduction, methodology, conceptual framework, development, results and conclusions. The second type of collaboration is the result of research done from a critical, interpretative and analytical view about a topic or issue from a specific author. The third type of collaboration is the result of research on the current status of any of the disciplines of Social Sciences, in order to present their progress, trends and future prospects, with a special attention to the situation in Mexico. The fourth type refers to present reviews of new domestic and foreign literature that may be relevant to the field of social sciences. The aforementioned are not considered scientific research articles. The journal is publish biannually, and is aimed at a wide and varied audience, highlighting the following: academics, researchers, students, government officials, social actors and social representatives.

Formal Requirements For Submiting Collaborations

1. Only original and unpublished papers will be published.

2. Contributions received will be arbitrated by the editor, who will notify the author of its temporary admission or final rejection based on their compliance with the profile of the journal (subject areas and type of collaboration). In case of provisional admission, the text will be referred to an opinion, which will be held by members of our academic peers and international portfolio of adjudicators and invited external experts. In case of rejection the material provided will be returned to the author.

3. The sending of collaborations to Tla-melaua implies that the author confirms that your article has not been postulated simultaneously or accepted in another journal

4. Delivering Tla-melaua collaborations will be accompanied by the transfer of rights letter and certificate of authenticity that authors must fill out when submitting their collaborations.

5. All contributions approved by the editor will be subjected to academic peer review (national and international experts), accepting the doubleblind method. Arbitration process is anonymous and developed under the following phases and aspects: a) Relevance, applicability and thematic originality, b) Discussion of subject matter and contribution to the advancement of the discipline, c), consistency and structure of the statement of objectives, d) Evaluation of the use and update sources, e) Correspondence of the methodology with the objectives of the research and / or theoretical reflection, f) Consistency expository g) Compliance with the editorial of the magazine. The referees will have a month to make the ruling. The results of the arbitration may be: a) accepted without reservation, b) admitted with in reserve or c) not supported.

6. Papers that have obtained favorable opinion and for editorial reasons fail to reach publication in the progressive number of the magazine, will be reserved for the next.

7. In attached sheet the author must provide your full name, current institutional affiliation and current email. It also should include a curriculum review of no more than a paragraph (12 lines or so), which highlight the following aspects: institution of affiliation, degrees, areas of research, recently published books and articles, awards, titles and academic honors, etc.

8. The official language is Spanish. Contributions received in other languages (English, French, Italian or Portuguese), will be published as is. However, it will be considered unpublished work written in language other than Spanish, but which have been translated for the first time to Spanish.

9. All contributions must be submitted in print and online. The printed version is laser with following features:

a. Minimum length of 15 pages and a maximum of 30, written in Arial 12 point with 1.5 line spacing, margins: left and right of 3 centimeters lower and upper 2 cm.
b. For the case of reviews, they have a maximum of five pages and must be of current scholarly books of any of the disciplines of Social Sciences.

10. Collaborations, except the reviews, should include: Title, Abstract, Keywords, Summary, Introduction, Development and Conclusion. The title should summarize the main idea of the work of the most accurate and least extent possible. The summary will be descriptive of the content of the work of no more than a paragraph (12 lines or so). The keywords will range between 3 and 5, and must account for the scientific content of the article. The title, abstract and key words must be translated into English.

11. The citations and references are placed in a footnote. Bibliographical entries should be made on the style (iso 690) and transcribe all of the source data, so you do not need a list of references at the end of the document. Example:
